SLC Engaged Technology Classrooms

Engaged Technology Classrooms change how teachers teach and students learn. This instructional model provides a research-based approach to organizing instruction and can be implemented in any subject area at any level. The District’s eMINTS and ETC classroom design is innovative and facilitates a change in teaching practice to a more constructivist approach. These classrooms are infused with technology and have a 2 to 1 computer ratio.

This Engaged Technology Classroom model fosters learning communities that produce technology-capable students with life skills that will enable them to be successful in 21st-century environments. The two-year intensive professional development and mentoring program:

    • inspires educators to use instructional strategies powered by technology
    • engages students in the excitement of learning
    • enriches teaching to dramatically improve student performance
